He just walked into my studio one day during a commercial shoot unannounced. I had never met him before and he wanted me to shoot slides of his artwork. Days later (and after my client shoot was over) he came back. We struck up a deal - I would shoot slides of his artwork and in return he would allow me to take his portrait............he immediately and unexpectedly jumped up on a stool where some lights were set up and insisted I start shooting......with no direction on my part, the shoot lasted for no more than 10 minutes......a true artist. This shot was published after winning an award - when the magazine came out I went to show Vasile only to learn that he had passed away unexpectedly the week before.
